Devonshire Mall
Beautiful skylights installed during the initial mall construction were now leaking in many areas, requiring extensive maintenance. Previous work attempted by other vendors had not properly addressed the problems. Work needed to be completed safely and efficiently in high traffic pedestrian areas.
Project Objective:
To repair and reseal extensive skylights from leaks and establish an ongoing maintenance schedule within the client’s budget.
Sealcon Solution:
- Removed material from multiple previous repair attempts
- Thoroughly cleaned skylight surfaces and substrate manually with isopropyl alcohol to promote adhesion
- Installed Tremco Simple Seal Silicone restoration system to provide watertight seals on the skylights
Result:
Work was completely safely and within the client’s annual budget, with minimal disruption to mall patrons and businesses. The product used to seal skylights includes a 20-year warranty, providing assurance that the waterproofing system will last for years. An ongoing maintenance plan was established to ensure continued safety and functionality of skylights.
